Mick Schuler, one of Michigan's best known auto racing announcers died. He was suffering from a serious case of sugar diabetes during the summer of 2004. The racing community mourned the loss of Jack Layton, age 73, on January 24, 2004. He'd been sick for a couple of years. Jack had heart surgery and never really recovered from it. Bud Meyering of Grand Rapids passed away in 2003. Bob Lewis of Rockford passed away 7/18/2003.
