Inducted into the Michigan Motor Sports Hall of Fame in 1986. Art Bennett of Battle Creek was one of the stars of the fleet supermodified during the late 1950's and early 1960's. He had the opportunity to drive for a number of top car owners. He won numerous races in the Benke #14 and the Bingo 151. His biggest win was the 1961 Oswego Classic. It was the first time the New York fans had ever seen a supermodified and the four Michigan that were present that day started a tradition of Oswego running supermodifieds ever since. He retired from driving in the 1970's. Send mail to Dan Van Koevering with questions or comments about this web site. |
