The 2004 MMSHoF Hall of Famer Neil Penny died on January 21st. He was 87.

Hall of Famer Mildred Marcum died on January 9th. She and her husband, John started ARCA  in 1953. She was 97 years old.

Joy Fair, 1986 inductee died on the morning of December 10th. He was one of the most prolific winners in Michigan auto racing history, having won over 600 features.

The 2011 MMSHoF Induction ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon, November 6th, 2011 at the Comfort Inn Conference Center in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.   There were 300 people in attendance.

The 2011 inductees were: Ernie Beckman, Allan Brown, Marv Carman, John Doering, Jr., Doug Finley, Doug Flannery, Doug Kalitta, Scott Kalitta, Jerry Makara, and Joan Simmons.

The next scheduled board meeting for the MMSHoF will be sometime in March of 2012. It will be at the R.E. Olds Museum in Lansing, MI. The meeting is to start at 7 pm. The public is invited to attend.  

Sad news was reported on the morning of the banquet. 2004 inductee John Tenney died earlier in the day in a fire at his house in Battle Creek.

The MMSHoF is proud to report that they will have a display of photos at the Gilmore Museum near Kalamazoo for the spring of 2012. This years special exhibit is centered around oval track and road racing racing. There are about two dozen race cars on display, from Indy Cars to Sports Cars. The Museum ris now open year round.
